Sarah + Marty | Brisbane Wedding Photographer

I recently traveled down to the beautiful hinterland on the NSW border for the wedding of Sarah & Marty. Their ceremony was at the picturesque Penny Ridge resort at Carool.

With such a gorgeous view of the valley and surrounding hills we  could see the rain and bad weather approaching. But, perhaps as a sign of good fortunes ahead for Sarah & Marty, the weather held off for the whole ceremony. The heavens then proceeded to open up and everyone ran for the comfy shelter of the reception room.

But once the rain stopped, the weather cleared into a beautiful afternoon and we then walked around the grounds taking in the view before heading into the reception.

.

I loved Sarah’s shoes

The ceremony had a beautiful view of over the valley and the impending rain.

Ceremony Over, and the rain comes

Maggie & Sam

A little while ago we went to shoot the engagement session of Maggie & Sam who are getting married in May. These two are  just completely each others world.

We had a lot of fun shooting around Maggies parents property where we found a little farm area, an old English Phone box and what everybody should have in there back yard – a renovated tram!!

Maggie & Sam we very much enjoyed meeting your family and thank you for inviting our family to your home.

Nicole & Jesse

Nicole and Jesse’s wedding was about the thing that was most important to them both – family. From getting married on Jesse’s Grandmothers anniversary in the same church (City Tabernacle) or having all their siblings in the bridal party, the day was about love, joy, happiness and enjoying the day as one big family.

Nicole look gorgeous in her Darb polkadot dress and the boys looked pretty spiffy too! The reception was in the marquee at Victoria Park Golf Club and we were joined by an amazing live duet, one of which is an International Operatic star who sang some amazing Italian Opera to Nicole and Jesse.

We produced a slideshow of the shots of the day through the reception which showed all the guests all the frivolity had on the location shoot!

Nicole and Jesse thanks for including us in your celebrations and for kicking it up in the photobooth! We hope you love the images.

Thanks also to Barbara at Fisheye Videography for being such a pleasure to work with!

Happy Fathers Day & Happy Birthday to you!

Today is Steve’s 35th Birthday and his 3rd Fathers Day so here’s a post to celebrate all things we love about Steve

* Georgia loves that you will read her books to her in the animal voices and don’t get mad when she steals the last bit of toast from your plate

* Ryan finds quite amusing that after mummy brings him into our bed in the morning that he wakes you up by chewing on your nose

* Shops with Toy Sales love the fact that you go in with a plan and a budget of $360 and walk out having spent $950!

* I am tickled that you are considering letting me buy a jumping castle for the kids in the backyard just because “I think it would look cool”

* I am perplexed of your love of potatoes – no matter how many potatoes we have at home you must purchase at least 4 more potatoes every time we go into a supermarket “just in case we run out”

* I appreciate the fact that you will run the bath for the kids but then distract them for 5 minutes so I can have a soak to myself

* I love that even though you know I am pretending to be asleep you will get up at 3:00am to feed Max the cat instead of elbowing me to tell me it’s my turn

* We all love that you will take us to the park on a Sunday afternoon and then surprise us with a picnic lunch

Park-1Park-2Park-3I love this one of you and our little girl….

Steve what you said to me at our wedding is exactly how we feel about you “you are are love, our life, our everything”.

Happy Birthday Sweetheart & Happy Father’s Day, I hope you had a great day, we love you.

Luke, Alicia & Belly time!

Luke & Alicia are one of our awesome couples from last September (who feature in our blog header!) who are due to have there first baby within the next two weeks. Alicia has the most gorgeous beautiful belly and I am going to say this and cop the flak but she is one of those women you just want to hate because she has beautiful skin and was literally glowing, fortunately she makes it impossible to hate her with just the most bubbly personality.

We had some late afternoon fun around the house & nursery and then tried to catch the sunset but it just escaped us on this cold wintery day.

We are so looking forward to meeting your little man in a fortnight guys for your newborn shoot and hope you enjoy the images.

Ann & Rob = A special kind of Love

Now that End of Financial Year is over I have decided to write a few of the blog posts as Steve keeps writing them all himself! I have actually been writing this blog post in my head for over a week, how much is too much to write but still enough to explain these two special people?

Firstly Ann, Ann is one of four gorgeous girls in a family that we have been associated with for a quite some time. We have been privileged enough to capture the weddings of three of the four sisters. Firstly there was Laura & Keith back in 2006 and then Dianne & John at Palm Cove in 2007. And now Ann & Rob. We did joke on the day that the family should just put us on the payroll as the official family photographers. This family is always warm and welcoming and always fun to photograph

Now Rob, Rob is a pretty quiet unassuming guy who just gets on with the task at hand, a gentle soul who just plainly loves his girl (& she loves him back!)

Ann & Rob booked us a while back for their wedding but then tragedy hit the family and they became carers for Rob’s 16 month old sister, the adorably cute Tilly.

Ann & Rob changed their wedding plans to a small occasion to just celebrate the day as the budget had to be moved to welcome with open arms a new young family member who needed a whole new “trousseou and associated furniture”. Ann & Rob tried to keep it simple but all their pesky friends and family wouldn’t allow that! Cakes were made, Bonboniere’s found and just the little things that make a Wedding special were given to Ann & Rob without a second thought. I believe this goes to show how awesome Ann & Rob are.

The heartwarming ceremony was held at the Chapel of All Hallows School followed by some photo fun at the grounds and at Kangaroo point. The Reception was held at the Southbank Tafe training restaurant.

Ann & Rob thank you for allowing us to be a part of your special day and congratulations on becoming a new beautiful family of three.

Sharon + BJ

It was a lot of fun shooting Sharon and Bj’s wedding recently. Both Sharon and BJ have bright warm personalities which compliment each other so well. There wasn’t a moment in the day where I didn’t see both of them without huge smiles on their faces. Especially when they were together, enjoying  their special day.
