Michelle + Steven

I’m still catching up a little on my blogging…naughty me..

I recently photographed Michelle and Steven’s wedding out at Canungra.

Canungra holds a special place for me as I lived there for a number of years when I was growing up. (my dad was stationed in the army barracks there). So I have many fond memories of Canungra and exploring the surrounding countryside.

Michelle & Steven chose the lovely  O’Reilly’s Winery as the venue for both their ceremony and reception. It is a beautiful place nestled in at the base of a valley bordered by  a crystal clear creek. And it was beside this creek that Michelle & Steven chose to have their ceremony.

Following the ceremony we had some fun amongst the vineyards before heading into the wine cellar for the reception.

Be sure to read below the photos for some more detailed wedding information straight from the bride and groom.

Here are some comments from Michelle and Steven about their day:

“      Our ceremony and reception was held at the beautiful O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards (www.oreillys.com.au/cvv) where our Wedding Coordinator Adele, Head Chef Rob and the whole team made sure every detail was just perfect.

My stunning dress was made to measure by Wendy Makin (www.wendymakin.com) and her fantastic team in East Brisbane who make the whole process so easy and exciting leading up to the big day.  Their attention to detail, support and care is such a special part of selecting “the dress”.

Our Bridesmaids dresses were made locally in Brisbane (Dell, Brides of Belmont) and their stunning earrings were designed by the very talented Anita at Kezani (www.kezani.com.au).  Nadine and Adrian from Rokstar (www.rokstar.com.au) did a perfect job of all our hair and makeup and we all felt sufficiently fabulous by the time they’d waved their magic brushes!

Our beautiful flowers were done by Veronica Jo Flowers (www.veronicajoflowers.com.au) and we also purchased some extra bags of petals from Simply Rose Petals (www.simplyrosepetals.com.au) for our red carpet and table scatters.  Sheree from Champagne Cakes & Flowers (www.champagnecakesandflowers.com.au) made our two tiered marble mud and orange poppy seed cake with a mass of delicate sugar roses and white chocolate shards.  Yum!

Our music was provided by G&M Solutions (www.gmsolutions.com.au) who have a great online selection and planning tool for those who like to choose their own tunes!

Of course, the wonderful Steve and Debbie from ST Photography (www.stphotography.com.au) for our photography and Barbara from Fisheye Studios (www.fisheyestudio.com.au) who captured all the video footage too.  Both Barbara and Steve were fantastic to work with and we really enjoyed our 15 minute ‘night shoot’ with both of them and our best man to fire the flash!  It was a lovely personal interlude amidst a busy day!

Our wedding night was spent at The Escarpment (www.escarpment.com.au) on Tamborine, home to 6 gorgeous secluded stone cottages and stunning private gardens.  A huge selling point was the spacious sunroom we were able to use while getting ready.  It gave us plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the gorgeous surrounds.  And last but not least we’ve just returned from a fantastic honeymoon at Thala Beach Lodge (www.thalabeach.com.au), the perfect romantic hideaway just outside Port Douglas.

Sarah + Paul

A few weeks ago I travelled out to beautiful Dayboro to photograph the wedding of Sarah & Paul. Sarah and Paul are two very sweet individuals and it was a lot of fun hanging out with them.

The day began with Sarah getting ready in a cute little cottage at Blue Ridge Lavender farm at the foothills of Mt Mee. She looked spectacular in her dress and excited to see her husband to be.

The ceremony was held at the very picturesque Ocean View Estates Vineyard on top of Mount Mee. Sarah has a long background in music so it was quite fitting that she walked down the aisle to her friend playing the Basoon.

Following the ceremony we strolled around the property and had some fun chasing the last of the afternoon light. It was then up to the restaurant for the exquisitely decorated reception.

Belinda + Dean

I recently photographed the wedding of Belinda & Dean up at Ebb Waterfront restaurant on the sunshine coast.

Belinda looked beautiful in a very pretty gown. Dean also looked the part in a smart black suit and black tie. The ceremony was held on the grounds overlooking the Maroochy river. We then quickly ducked to the beach at Cotton tree to catch the last of the sun before heading back to Ebb for the reception.

Melissa + Peter

Last Saturday I travelled out to Jonica Gardens at the Logan Reserve to photograph the wedding of the very sweet Melissa & Peter. It was a gorgeous afternoon with beautiful sunlight filtering through the trees as Melissa & Peter exchanged vows. It was a very lovely ceremony and you could just see how very much in love Melissa & Peter were.

We then had some fun around the grounds of the gardens before heading to the reception at the Acacia Ridge Hotel.

Some Reception Details

Tania & Frank

I feel a bit naughty for not keeping up with my blogging this week, but hopefully the below images will make up for it. :)

These images are from the recent wedding of Tania & Frank. Tania looked gorgeous in a Elizabeth De Varga gown. Frank looked suitably nervous to see his beautiful bride. Their ceremony was held at the impressive St Stephens Cathedral. Following the ceremony we then wandered around parts of the city for photos before heading to the always beautiful Hillstone St Lucia for the reception.

The fun continued there well into the night, with Tania and Frank showing a cute slideshow of their relationship so far and their many travels. They then entertained their guests with a fun first dance which started quite normal but then broke into some really wacky dance moves. :)

For all you upcoming/potential brides, check out the bottom of this post (below the photos) for some further information from Tania & Frank about the various details and vendors.

From Tania & Frank

“      Our very special day finally came and went  and ran smoothly without a hitch, which we believe has a lot to do with the fact that we chose excellent vendors when planning our wedding day.

Our beautiful ceremony was held at The Cathedral of St. Stephen, Elizabeth Street, Brisbane. We hired a string trio  Stirling Strings. Annette, Leon and Eric were fantastic  the music was so beautiful, and created such a lovely sound and atmosphere.?

My dress and earrings are from Elizabeth de Varga – very professional staff, who are experts at bridal design and creation. The bridesmaids dresses are from the Mr K range, from Harts  the staff there were very helpful. The groom’s suit is from Paul Barry Menswear, where we also found very helpful staff. All of us girl’s hair and make-up was beautifully done by the fantastic team from Beautiful Images by Toula. Really lovely ladies who made us feel at ease  and a very special mention goes to the very special Toula herself  a very talented lady, who is also an absolute sweetheart!

Our bouquets, reception flowers and details were provided by Daniela at Pink and Purple Petals. Daniela is helpful and lovely, enthusiastic, and creative. I was so thrilled when I saw the bouquets for the first time  stunning! Our wedding cars, classic Jags, were hired from Kenz Classic. Robyn and Ken and their other drivers were fantastic, and during the day Robyn was amazing, so professional and so helpful, she was able to put myself and everyone else around us at ease.

Our reception was held at Hillstone, St Lucia – amazing. Lauren, Hillstone’s wedding co-ordinator, is extremely professional, and we felt confident that every detail would be taken care of  and it was. When we arrived at Hillstone that evening, we felt very special  and the staff who looked after ourselves and our guests all night were wonderful. Our DJ was from G&M Solutions. Glenn and Miranda are so friendly and helpful, and our DJ on the night was a very professional and lovely guy, who did a fantastic job – the dance floor was filled all night! Our lovely looking, and yummy tasting cake was made by Sarah-Jane at Cake That.

And, a huge THANK YOU goes to ST Photography! Steve and Debbie are so wonderful, helpful, patient, professional and extremely talented! In addition to Steve’s magnificent photography, and Debbie’s expertise, they are both lovely people, and have helped to make this experience such a wonderfully happy and memorable one  Thank you! It really has meant the world to us.

Katrina & Nigel

Last Friday was the wedding of Katrina & Nigel. It was a gorgeous day for a wedding and everything went off without a hitch with Katrina & Nigel exchanging vows at Northlakes Golf Club. Everything looked immaculate with heaps of beautiful flowers decorating the venue courtesy of Katrina’s sister Karen from Bliss Floral Designs.

The lovely ceremony also included Katrina’s little boy Harrison. With Nigel saying a special vow to Harrison and also giving him a necklace. It was very sweet.

Following the ceremony we had a quick little walk around the grounds before hopping in the old Dodge Limo and heading to the water out the front of the reception venue (the Belvedere Hotel).

The reception room was also beautifully set out with lots more flowers, Gold Fish centre pieces and one of my favorite things…. A Candy Bar!!  :)

Congratulations again Katrina & Nigel.
