Alira + Chris

Last Saturday I photographed the wedding of the very sweet Alira & Chris.

Everything was nice and centrally located with both the ceremony and reception held at the always wonderful Victoria Park Golf course. The ceremony was held in the newly constructed Marque, which turned out to be a very good thing, as it kept the very blustery wind at bay and allowed everyone to enjoy the lovely ceremony.

Following the ceremony there was a butterfly release as a special surprise for Alira & Chris from Alira’s mum.

We then roamed around the surrounds taking in the afternoon light before heading into the main Marque for the reception.

I hope you enjoy the images.

I really love this image:

Portraits

We have been doing a lot of portrait work lately (with Christmas just around the corner).

On the subject of portraits, we are often asked who photographs our family. Obviously as photographers we think getting professional family portraits done on a regular basis is vitally important to document your family life. So in answer to the often asked question, we also get professional photos taken of our family. When we were in Sydney during the year we did a fantastic family portrait session with the very talented Kate at Uber Photography – I have attached a few of our favorites!

Cushla + Andrew

I recently travelled up to the beautiful Rainbow Beach to photograph the wedding of Cushla & Andrew. I love Rainbow Beach’s relaxed laid back feel and it suited Andrew & Cushla’s day really well. They are keen 4WDers and Rainbow beach holds so many happy memories for them that it seemed the perfect spot for them to tie the knot too.

The ceremony was held on the beach with the aisle, fittingly, flanked by friend’s and family’s 4WDs. Following the ceremony we then jumped in the 4WDs and went further down the beach for some fun. We then made our way to the cocktail reception at a local restaurant and they partied well into the night.

Hope you enjoy the images.

Alice + Andrew

Following on from the sneek peek earlier, I am happy to share some more from Alice & Andrew’s amazing wedding on North Stradbroke island.

Both Alice & Andrew have such a warm and vibrant personality and it was such a pleasure to share in their big day.

The weather was dark and stormy for most of the day, always threatening, but these two never let it affect them one bit. It was my bet, that they hardly noticed at all, given how intently they were focused on each other..

As it happens, the weather did hold off and we got some spectacular (if a little windy) shots followed by an amazing sunset. We then headed into the reception at the surf club which was beautifully decorated by the team at Stradbroke Weddings.

Thanks Alice & Andrew for allowing me to capture your day. I hope you enjoy the images.

I loved the contrast of Black Tux against beach…very James Bond :)

Due to the weather, the ceremony ended up being held indoors. But I think that added to the intimate feel.

This images makes me smile. :) We were on one side of the beach taking some photos, when we spotted this ray of sunshine (the first we had seen all day) peaking through the clouds. We all just ran for that spot. And no one ran faster than Andrew and Alice! :)

But it was well worth the run I think to get the images below:

The reception was beautifully set out with lovely candles and many, many bowls of beautiful orchids. (And yes, that is a cake of cheese!)

Regards,

Steve

Sneek Peek – Alice + Andrew

It’s been a hectic week. But I just want to give you a quick sneek peek to the fab wedding of Alice & Andrew. Here is is. Check back at the end of this weekend for more..

Cathy + Rob

On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of the lovely Cathy & Rob. The ceremony was held at the Anglican Church at Alexander Hills. We then headed into the Botanical gardens in the city for some location shoot fun, before making our way to the reception at Robinsons garden.

I hope you enjoy the images.

I think we have a contender for cutest flowergirl of 2008…

The boys doing some ‘bluesteel’..

I loved the Gingerbread men gifts for their guests

Cathy & Rob performed quite a difficult dance routine which ended in a spectacular pickup and spin!. Dancing with the Stars eat you heart out..

Sono Restaurant Portside Hamilton

Something a little different from my standard wedding and Portrait work. Last week I shot some food and interior images for the fabulous Sono Restaurant in the Portside development at Hamilton. They are working on a new yummy menu for the coming months and wanted some fresh images to go with it.

Sono restaurant  is a genuine oasis of calm and tranquility, with beautiful Japanese decor and a magnificent riverside view. And the food tastes (and looks!) amazing. If you are after really fresh and delicious Japanese food (or even some excellent western dishes with a Japanese slant) I can highly recommend Sono Portside.

How is this for a feast!!

They also do awesome cocktails!

Marianne + James

Last Saturday I traveled out to just north of Toowoomba to capture Marianne & James’ country ceremony.

A few years back I photographed Marianne’s sisters wedding (The lovely Belinda & Rod). So It was really great to catchup with her family again. And quite an honour to photograph both of the daughters weddings. :)

I guess Marianne & James’ wedding theme could best be described as laid back and casual. Everything took place on her parent’s beautifully prepared country property and they even had a jumping castle!!

I hope you enjoy the images:

The flower girls peeking out to catch a glimpse of Dad

Both of Marianne’s parents walked her down the aisle

With the two sides of the family officially coming together, they thought it would be cool to do a ‘Brady Bunch’ style photo.   I think they just need the kooky housekeeper now :)

Did I mention they had a jumping castle??..
