New Years Eve Wedding | Tara + Adam

My last wedding of 2010 was the New Years Eve wedding of Tara & Adam. And to make things a little bit different from many of my December weddings, we actually had this crazy thing called blue sky and amazingly… the sun!

Tara and Adam chose to have their lovely ceremony under a grove of trees in the Roma St Parklands. The bonus of this venue was that Tara was able to include her adorable dog Lucy in the proceedings! It also made a great location for some photo fun afterwards before heading to a few other city locations nearby.

We then returned to the Urban Hotel’s 10th floor Panorama room for the reception. With an amazing sweeping view of the Brisbane skyline, I couldn’t think of a better place to have a  new years eve reception while also having a great vantage point to watch the fireworks at the end of the night.

Their puppy Lucy was very happy to be involved

Brisbane Wedding | Katrina + Paul

One last wedding to blog before wrapping up for Christmas.

This is the wedding of Katrina & Paul who were recently married at Marymac church Annerley with their reception held at the emporium hotel.

Once again the weather was not particularly kind to Katrina and Paul’s big day, but a fun time was still had by all.

I loved Katrina’s shoes

The boys decided to have a little nerve settler before heading to the church

Katrina’s father watching her arrive at the church

We had a little fun exploring some spots in the church while waiting for the torrential downpour to ease outside..

We ended up at one of the groomsmen’s house which had a not too shabby view of the city :)

The party moved inside

Some details from the Christmas themed reception!

Merry Christmas!!!

Parliament House Wedding | Julia + Mark

Getting close to Christmas now, but still many things to blog!

First up is the wedding of Julia and Mark, who were married at Our Lady of Victories Church in Bowen Hills.

The day was a little dark and stormy, but Julie and Mark didn’t let that affect them. They were both super excited and glad to be finally having their big day.

Their reception was held in the beautiful Strangers dining room within the QLD Parliament building, complete with a great Christmas tree to suit the festive season.

Puss kept a close eye on proceedings..

Julia’s dad looking very proud

I love this little series

A little bit random..but I like it

‘Someone’ accidentally forgot to bring the buttonhole floweres.. :)

Brisbane Wedding | Susan + David

I had only met Susan and David for the first time in person a few days before their wedding day. But I felt that I knew them pretty well already from our many email and skype conversations. They live in the UK now but chose their home town of Brisbane for their wedding so that they could have as many family and close friends with them for their special day.

They chose to have their wedding ceremony in the relaxed setting of New Farm Park. Following the ceremony, everyone enjoyed the afternoon with drinks and live music in the park. Susan and David really wanted their day to be a fun relaxing afternoon amongst their friends.

We did manage to sneak away for a quick photo shoot in the park and surrounds before heading to the reception also held at the nearby Watt restaurant at the Powerhouse.

Susan had a stunning Vera Wang dress

Many of Susan’s close friends made the trip down from the UK and were there in the morning to calm any nerves

I loved Dave’s Spirit level cuff links

Gold Coast Wedding | Grace + Steven

I traveled down to the Royal Pines Resort on the gold coast recently to photograph the wedding of Grace and Steven.

Their day was a little bit different in that the morning started with their lovely ceremony held by the lake at the Royal Pines resort. We then headed inside the resort for the lunchtime reception.

After the fun of the reception was over we then headed off for some photos before finishing the day with a Traditional Tea ceremony for Steven’s side of the family.

The whole day was a lot of fun and we even managed to dodge all of the nasty weather (Yay!!)

Following the ceremony Grace ducked upstairs for a makeup touch up, which gave me the chance to grab some quick bridal shots

Some reception details:

There were quite a few fun games played during the reception:

I love tea ceremonies

Sirromet Winery Wedding | Skye + Mike

Another gorgeous recent wedding was that of Skye and Mike. They chose the picturesque Sirromet winery at Mount Cotton to have their intimate ceremony with friends and family.

The lush vines provided the perfect backdrop for Skye and Mike to say their vows. They also provided a great place to have fun afterwards while taking photos.

Everyone then made their way up to the Barrel room set in the cellar, for the reception.

Stradebroke Island Wedding | Brooke + Cameron

I was lucky enough to get to another of my favourite spots recently when I photographed the wedding of Brooke & Cameron at North Stradebroke Island.

It was a perfect day for a beautiful beachside wedding ceremony. Brooke & Cameron exchange vows under the pandanus trees overlooking the ocean in a lovely ceremony.

We then went to a few of North Stradebroke’s spectacular beaches and lookouts for photos before heading to the reception held at the Stradebroke Isalnd Beach Hotel.

A nice view to take in while getting ready

The little flowergirl was just so adorable..

Dad was extremely proud

I love when there are lots of flowers at the ceremony

Kids, don’t try this at home..

Stamford Plaza Wedding | Kimberley + Nathaniel

I recently had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of the lovely Kimberley and Nathaniel.

I could just tell from the start of the day that they were both very excited that the day had come and were looking forward to tying the knot in front of close friends and family. They chose the magnificent Cathedral of St Stephen in the city to exchange their vows. We then went to a few of their favourite places in the New Farm area that they love to call home.

We got back to the Stamford Plaza for the reception just in time, before a storm came rolling in. Providing a great lightning display over the river and Story bridge as a backdrop to the reception festivities.

I loved Kimberley’s Blue shoes and Darb Dress

Nathaniel taking a moment…
